Emotion. The yes campaign was built on emotion, their flyers filled with it. No official structure was ever created for the voice on purpose, since if people saw that it was going to be an unelected bureaucracy, with the strict purpose of enforcing a treaty, which would recognize a successor state, then many on the left would have begun asking questions.
Inherent in this is a serious issue, yet inevitable and positive as far as change is concerned. That is the polarization of Australian’s and those who are active in the political sphere. There has always been a distinction within the right-left paradigm, yet now that distinction is very clear. As the right have become reactionary in the strict sense of the word, in that all they want to do is react to the lefts ideas and actions by scrutinizing the facts, and the left have become radically emotionally driven.
This has not ended with the finalizing of the referendum. Instead, it has made the ideological divide greater, people more aggressive, and tribalism/identity politics more defined.
The leaders of the left are still hell bent on implementing their Marxist land grab, which is the recognizing of a sovereign nation or nations within Australia, nations with native title land rights that will eventually equate to at least 80% of Australia, land rights which limit private property ownership. Which is textbook communism.
And the leaders of the right, although scattered, not as popular, and many times only controlled opposition, are only reacting to the leaders of the left. Yet their supporters are growing more and more staunch in their understanding of the world, whilst drifting further to the right, as their understanding of national politics is increasing.
Nothing has slowed down since the lefts’ defeat at the ballot box. They are only pressing on further since the majority are fueled by emotions, meaning they are now in a state of hatred, and the leaders are stressed, knowing that the only way to achieve their goals of recognizing a foreign nation within Australia is to push it through the judicial systems within the states. Completely ignoring and… spitting in the face if you will… at democracy and everyone who voted against them.
The right is drifting further and further into American idealism. Liberty, free market, gun rights, anything and everything that gives more power to the individual than to the state, which is now the hallmark of modern rightwing politics. However, no laws are being passed in order to support these positions. And so, the underdog mentality is growing further and further. Backing a wounded animal into a corner they can’t escape makes the animal fight back. And so, we can see that the divide is getting wider and is causing both sides to be more radical. A trend that is seen in the US as well. Especially because of the constant attempts at imprisoning President Trump.
As my usual readers would understand, I don’t consider myself right or left, as both are, as far as I’m concerned, leftist/Marxist ideologies. Two wings of the same bird. As conservatives only conserve what the left created with a roughly 10-year delta. For example, homosexual marriage rights. However, I see in the right, the beginnings of a transformation into the true progressive mindset. The understanding that they will have to change the world around them to suit their ideals, ideals which are ancient, eternal. Such as the right to self-defense, equal weaponry, individual autonomy, and a shift towards, for lack of a better term, “leader-philia”.
Whereas the far left, when pushed to their extremes now, seems to only be the extreme of emotion. Mocking, vengefulness, spitting obviously… screaming etc. is much more common now and rational debates are becoming non-existent. This was even evidenced by a recent debate between Goddard and one of his leftist haters, which Hayes media and I had to put a stop too. The current leftist mentality is not the correct grounds for leaving the left-right paradigm, as there is nothing creative or beneficial in that mind set, it is restricting. Only the far right is beginning to create ideas at this time and especially, recognizing what I have always termed “eternal truths”. Not to be confused with traditionalism. The left cannot and will not recognize eternal truths. Example being, that women are built to make children, and men are built to ensure the survival of those women and children.
The left-right paradigm only has one exit currently, and that is via the right. And I am sure, that the further the leftist leaders push their narratives, the more people will leave Plato’s cave, too which they will never return.
