The purpose of voting for the minor parties first this election is not to have a minor party majority.
It’s to have enough seats to sway important decisions.
Eventually, dethroning the liberals and labor and making the minor parties majors would be great.
But realistically, the goal is to control decisions and force the majors into negotiations.
This is the very real and practical aspect of the minor party push.
It is entirely achievable this election and is worth your effort supporting.
If you’re scared of a minority Labor government then the alternative is too support liberals over the minors.
But that would mean more of the same. There’s no difference between liberal and labor. There’s even an argument that liberals are worse than Labor as Mick says.
But a minority labor government is not at all solely the fault of freedom votes leaving the liberals, it’s also because the woke left, from both liberal and labor sides, are disillusioned and so are voting greens.
Both the Right and the Left are pushing back against the majors at the same time.
So you have to make a choice at the ballot.
Either place minors above liberals, allowing more chance for decisions to be swayed in our favor.
Or vote liberals above minors and get a government that wants you to report your friends and family to ASIO. That created the eSafety commission. That is quite happy with removing free speech.
And the proof that giving seats to minor parties means decisions are swayed in our favour is shown with senate voting patterns.
Minor parties do vote quite a lot for what we on the freedom loving side want, with the exception of One Nation who sometimes abstains on important decisions.
But senators like Babet and Rennick vote for what their voters want them too. Ruddick in NSW always supports what his libertarian voters want him too. And I’m fairly convinced that Craig Kelly will also vote for what his voters want him too.
Liberals and Labor don’t do that, they vote for what their party and probably their donors want them too.
At the end of the day, that is what you want out of a politician, to vote for what you want, not what vested interests want.
So even if labor gets in, and they’re most likely going too regardless because the Liberals are running an incredibly poor campaign, it really won’t matter because it’s still going to be labor or liberals anyway.
Liberals simply aren’t the better of the two, they are either exactly the same or worse.
Lesser of two evils won’t cut it anymore.
Both are entirely detached from what Australians want.
