What you’re about to read is a tale of an endless wasteland of horror and decay, undeniably terrifying and chaotic, yet the ending will shock you…

The theory of evolution is not actually a fact. On a micro level, I can see how it can be proven to be fact. But on a macro level, it is still largely unproven.
But there are some who would say that evolution on all levels is false, and point towards the opposite being the case.
I would assume the default dog could be used to argue that point.

The default dog is the phenomenon that occurs when dogs of all different breeds mate with each other enough that they eventually create the default dog. Essentially a light brown dingo looking dog.
This dog breed is found all over the world, on every continent, especially in third world countries where domestic dogs roam wild.

So what is devolution?
Devolution is the concept where we are not actually evolving at all, but instead, devolving. That eventually all organisms will default back to an original state.
But I’m going to take it a step further and explore the idea that not only will life revert to a default setting, but also deteriorate until it reaches its base components. Until all life and all complex structures become their base materials.
We know from ancient remains that prehistoric people had larger jaws, near perfect teeth, and were quite strong. Yet modern man is weaker, has crooked teeth, and is becoming in some cases, noticeably more androgynous.
Like in the theory of the big bang, life could be an explosion. But all explosions eventually settle. So therefore, all life could be in some form of settling, not expanding.
Could it be that we are devolving? Growing larger and larger populations that are slightly more broken then the last? Are we falling apart slowly over the centuries?

Our technology continues to get more advanced as time goes on. And our infrastructure becomes more and more complex and efficient along with it.
Our cities are getting more tightly packed, and 15 minute cities are being posited as the next step forward in urban planning.
On the surface this sounds like an efficient and organized way forward, but my usual audience sees it in the opposite light. That actually this is leading us into a dystopia of nightmare proportions.

In this dystopia, people will be viewed as mere units. They’re all just a part of one large factory.
As cities become more compact, and agriculture and industry more compact and controlled as well. Centralization will lead to the dehumanizing of the population.

Cities already look to be heading towards resembling hive cities.
Cities that are so over organized and over engineered that the people themselves start to be viewed as bug-men. Just units in one large machine.
That machine being one giant megapolis.
It is possible that centuries from now, this reality could be even more pronounced.
And if this trend of devolution continues, what is the next step from the over engineered and centralized hive city?

As the hive cities expand and multiply, the craving for centralization by the smaller and smaller group of elites will exacerbate exponentially.
A one world government by this point would be inevitable. Sectors of hive cities that don’t comply are simply annihilated. There’s no stopping the centralization. The factory expands, but its mind shrinks…

Eventually people will become livestock, and the smaller and smaller group of elites will become mentally deranged.
There would be no actual problems left in their lives anymore.
Nothing to fight but themselves. No morality to hold themselves back.
What do you do when the entire world is at your finger tips? When nothing holds you back? Where there’s no need to move even a single part of your body anymore?

Do the controlling elite survive off of dopamine alone?
Pure ecstasy? Pure fear? Pure terror?
All that is left is their own minds.
Minds with no root, no moral grounding.
No point in consuming the same things as before as it is now normalized to them.
They will always crave more.
This is where cannibalizing of their own human livestock becomes inevitable as morality and desires become inverse.
Humans always want more. The people now tamed in the human farms, will now viewed as organic matter exclusively.
They will be consumed by the small few.

The world will become one large farm for a small group of immobile monsters. Giant feeders like pigs.
No movement needed. The machines become their extension. What is left of their consciousness is all that they are.
Spiritual beings covered in grotesque gore, consumption is all they know. Their minds are all they have left. They have become spiritual beings, but in an inverse and rancid way.
They will eat their own cities as they lose their grip on reality all together. Completely insane as they conjure up in their mind their own horrors to overcome.

There would be nothing left to expand when this stage is reached. Only the minds of the centralized controllers.
Eventually, the world will begin to disintegrate. Consumed by itself in a psychotic way.
Civilizations peak achieved. Consumption continues, but by creatures that have lost their sanity.
They no longer have any connection to reality.
Hive cities are transitioned exclusively into human farms. The inner walls become purely organic matter, the outer walls now function as a shell.

In the end, the controllers don’t understand what they’re doing anymore, resources are no longer produced, nothing is maintained.
And so, the hive cities slowly crumble over many more centuries. And deserts are left in their wake. The entire world consumed.
The once great hive world now falling into dust.
Sections of the hive cities will begin falling into disarray, the lifeforms still there are so deformed and mentally void that they don’t know what to do with themselves.

The leftovers of what man used to be will sit and stare at the crumbling sectors of the hive. Not understanding what they’re looking at.
Devolution complete, the last of the human cattle has no possibility of understanding what is happening around them.
And the controllers, the last vestiges of pure horror, slowly reach the justice they deserve in a quiet and surreal way.

Slowly disintegrating, a quiet peace prevails. The sound of the wind whistles gently around the sparse ruins.
An endless sandy desert is all that remains.
Until the whole world becomes desolate.
Devolution complete, silence becomes the norm.
