I have the solution to the homelessness crisis. In Australia, but also all over the west and especially in the United States, the homelessness crisis is spiraling out of control. Cost of living is increasing, the cost of housing is increasing, and the amount of migrants flooding into our great nation is nearing catastrophic proportions. This year alone Australia is expected to take in hundreds of thousands of migrants.
But where is everyone going to live? And where will they work? For the person who can no longer make ends meet, and/or is destroyed by debt, homelessness becomes a very real possibility. This possibility increases as expenses increase. More people coming into the country creates more demand for housing which in turn makes it more expensive. One solution is for the government to increase spending on public housing. But this is an inefficient way of housing people, it only adds to the nation’s debt burden, forcing the government to print more money, and then forcing inflation to increase. One solution for the short term that I would recommend, which isn’t my proper solution, is removing stamp duty on housing, including fees and regulations (except safety/structural regs), thus allowing it to be a more profitable venture for private capital to build more houses quicker. Reducing taxes for all will also help in this field. But short-term solutions are never good in the long term…
With more migrants comes more competition for low paying jobs, thus stagnating or driving down wages. This is also a major factor in the homelessness crisis. As everything is getting more expensive, and wages stagnate, the probability of people becoming homeless increases. The solution to this is to stop mass migration and encourage natural population growth through increasing the focus on the family unit. A nation producing a high population naturally through reproduction will not stagnate wages in isolation. As it takes 18-25 years for someone to grow into a proper productive part of economic society. This growth is gauged through education, (true education), a metric I am designing. True education would allow for people to compete in more advanced fields, and widen the range of people who work lower paid jobs between people who work higher paid jobs, lessening the competition for only low paying jobs, such as during a migration crisis. This is actually a system of being educated for skill and commonsense over the current education system, I’ll write more on this in the future.
But if no reasonable system is implemented in Australia to replace the current. Nothing will change, this problem will get worse. And mark my words, if the homelessness crisis is solved in Australia with our current socialist system, it will simply be solved by you paying more taxes and being burdened with more red tape.
The homeless should not be given houses to solve the crisis. And they should not be given welfare handouts. They should be given jobs. All they need is work in order to get out of what they are in. supplemental to this, they can be given a guarantee from the government that they have been allocated a job for a fixed period of time, which they can show evidence of that guarantee to real estate companies, that way they can be afforded a solid opportunity to rent even if they have no recent history of renting. Doing it this way will solve the crisis straight up but will be hampered if the current socialist government procedures are still in place.
Handouts wont work, because the money will be spent and then they would need another handout. Public housing wont work, which is a socialist/communist trick into thinking the problem is solved, but actually, the problem is passed to the taxpayer to pay for the continuing issue. The problem is solved by addressing the root cause. A lack of income. Fix this and you fix the crisis.
