Native title claims are UN-Australian. But “we’re not going to take your backyard!” they say, yet over 50% of Australia is now either exclusively native title or is claimed for native title. But why should much less than 3% of the population own more than half of the continent? Because of the naughty British many centuries ago? Australia was officially formed at federation. That federation was to unite all the states and peoples of Australia into one nation. Unified, strong, free.
But some groups want to challenge our freedom. All the people of Australia should be entitled to purchase land anywhere in Australia and have full undisputed rights to the land that they purchase regardless of race. Yet exclusive native title, which makes up roughly 30% of Australia. Has put a stop to that.
Now they are claiming a huge portion of land just south of Brisbane that even approaches the coast. What did the sitting member say about this?
Oh, no comment. How spineless.
One way to solve this terrible land grab is something called a sunset clause. This sunset clause will effectively put an end to native title claims by a set date. Which was proposed to be in 2025. But this has never been implemented. So effectively, native title claims can run indefinitely. In 100 years they can still be claiming land. In 200 years they can still claim land.
Yet all the while, the Australian taxpayer, the worker, the Aussie battler, has to struggle for his whole life only to finally acquire a measly 600 meters squared for themselves.
They talk of privilege? Yea the privilege lies with the native title claimants.
I would like to see an end to native titles all together. It is entirely unfair and cruel to all the hardworking families in Australia just barely scraping by.
I envision a nation where all Australians are equal, where race and class distinctions do not separate each other and cause others to benefit at the downfall of their own people. Where the people can all strive for greatness to their fullest capacity and be rewarded with sovereign land because of their hardships. Where people can buy a property for themselves so they can build up the land and produce food and goods for themselves by their own hand.
This will bolster the nation. As when the market is entirely free, and property rights unimpeded, The people then begin to truly flourish. Like what we’ve seen with the founding of the United States and the build up of free civilization everywhere.
When people are limited and treated like peasants then expect the country to be damaged in the same way. The people behind this land grab are abusing the situation for short term personal gain, in exchange for long term social and financial damage to all of Australia.
Everyone should be entitled to purchase and own land any where in Australia if they have made the capital to do so. This is, as far as I’m concerned, a fundamental human right. And their land should be their own private domain, where they make the decisions on what they do with it.
We need to forget the Australia of the past. We must make an Australia of the future.
